Welcome to the Jungle

August 30, 2010

The Metropolitan Museum of Art plants the seeds of imagination as bamboo shoots above the Roof Garden for Big Bambú: You Can’t, You Don’t, and You Won’t Stop by twin artists Mike and Doug Starn. The site-specific installation, comprised of bamboo poles, began last spring and will eventually grow to a 100-foot long structure. Visitors will be able to traverse through the sculpture, with special tours to walk above it as well via elevated walkways.

Big Bambú remains open now through October 31 at the Met. Below, a USAToday-produced video featuring actor David James Elliot visiting the exhibit.
